提纲:多样课程利于解决本领域问题,利于解决生活中的问题,利于找到自己真正兴趣所在
Universities should require every student to take various courses beyond the students' field of study. For kinds of courses outside the students' study field will provide wide range of knowledge which will be helpful to students' study in their field and may inspire them. Additionally, students can learn more thoroughly about their real interests when comparing different domains of knowledge.
Variety of courses outside students' own field of study will rich students' scope of knowledge, which will not only help them solve problems in their fields but also lead a better life. Nowadays, many problems cannot be solved with single kind of knowledge, such as genetic engineering needs both biology and chemistry scientists. Combining different expertise is more noticeable in some interdisciplinary such as material science and engineering. If students can learn more about other kinds of knowledge, he/she will solve the problem more effectively.
Besides, different knowledge areas often have special kind of methods to problems which may inspire a student who has little idea about how to tackle a difficult question.
Except study, students also spend much time on life, that is, they are not a kind of instrument for solving one kind of problem. They also encounter problems from life and need to attend social activity. Problems from daily life belong to many domains of knowledge, for example problems about food, car, and insomnia may belong to chemistry, physics and psychology, respectively. If an art student can learn something about computer, he/she may not have to look for a skilled worker to do the computer trouble-shooting. At the same time, wide scope of knowledge usually makes communication between different kinds of people easier. People can more or less use some jargons which are concise and accurate when they communicating, a wide-knowing person can get the information easily.
Besides helping solve problems and lead a easier life, attending other domain's course can also help students learn more about their interest. In fact, not all students can make clear what they really like and make a conclusive decision about what they will devote themselves to at the beginning. By attending different kinds of courses, they get an opportunity to go into various knowledge domains on their own. By comparing those knowledge, they can gradually make sure which is their favorite. Some may argue that attending other kinds of course costs much time and students cannot concentrate on their own field. Actually, if a student is not interested in his/her field, spending time on finding his/her real interest is worthy. On the other hand, if a student really like what he/she studies, by comparing with other areas' knowledge can make him/her more resolute in their own area and worker even hard.
So, attending courses outside students' own field may give them inspiration and help them solve problem in their field. Besides, by doing this, students find their real interested field which they will devote to.
