笔记的解释：
so …that V.S. so … as to be/do的用法：
so … that可以用作多个主语时，so前面的主语和that后面的主语可以不一样；
so … as to be/do一般用于单一主语，但是不能相隔太远，否则可以视为错误
原理：so … as to事实上是三个结构的结合，so引出的是状语，as指代句子前面的核心含义，to是不定式引导状语结构(adverbial structure)，此不定式修饰的正是前面的核心动词以及该动词的逻辑主语，所以只有当前面只有一个核心动词而且很明确的时候才能够用so…as to，也正因为修饰成分离被修饰词过远会造成修饰不清，所以to be/do结构不能与前面动词不能太远。

再来看OG 37
37.Although schistosomiasis is not often fatal, it is so
debilitating that it has become an economic drain on
many developing countries.



(A)it is so debilitating that it has become an
economic
(B)it is of such debilitation, it has become an

答案选D，答案中说so as to是idiomatically correct；没有指出who will marry

我的问题是，根据高中学的知识so...that和so...as to的意思是如此。。。以至于
so that 和 so as to是为了。。。
不知道这种说法在GMAT中是否适用
按照OG的理解是不是so。。。as to和 so as to都是错误的？
但是prep上又说so。。。as to是正确的
我查了下manhattan，上面说so。。。as to在og第十版里是对的，在12版里就是错的了，他们也不知道为什么

我做这类题有两个个原则：
1.当so .... that.... 和so ....as to 都正确时优选so...as to....因为so as to 较so  that来的简洁
2.那什么时候so as to不正确的呢？
1）把so as to句型改成so that 句型如果主句和that引导的从句时态不一致则不能用so as to 改变

so as to 一般比so that简洁因为前者接短语后者接句子，短语一定是比句子简洁的。但so as to要求主语一致而so that不要求，所以要看题意，原文主语有么有发生改变。

至于so as to 和so。。。 that个人认为本身含义上就是有差别的。后者译为“太怎样怎样以至于怎样怎样”。。体会一下语气和含义都是有不同的。。。

表示本人是新手。。。如有误请牛人们包含并指正。。。。

so as to 要主语相同这个我知道，但是我上面提到的OG这题主语就是一个人，没有变化啊，如果从简洁的角度那就该选so as to 而不是so that，但是答案是so that

我觉得还有一个解释 就是所以to be/do结构不能与前面动词不能太远。
可能是这句话的影响。我觉得实战的时候还是根据官方定义来，既然12版说是错的，那考试的时候就说是错的吧。。。

so as to 差不多是明白了，但是so x as to y 在OG的解释中明确说了是not a correct idiom，manhattan上说的是10版OG说这个是对的，但是12版说它又是错的了，所以很纠结，我就是想知道，如果考试真遇到了，算它错还是对

你上面列举的37题解释C是so...as to 的用法错误，而不是这个结构本身错误不能用。如果用成it is so debilitating as to become an economic drain... 就是没问题的。

我当时也是根据多了个 is it来排除C选项的，但是在OG的解释中 明确说了so x as to y 是not a correct idiom，manhattan上说的是10版OG说so x as to y 是对的，但是12版说它又是错的了，所以很纠结，我就是想知道，如果考试真遇到了，只能通过so。。。that和so。。。as to来判断的时候算so x as to y错还是对
