Two Ph.D. student openings in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at Oakland University will be available starting Fall Semester of 2012. Successful applicants will join Prof. Tao Shu’s research group and will receive rigid/systematic training and carry out research in the area of networking and security. An ideal candidate should have completed his/her M.S. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, and should be highly self-motivated in pursuing a research-oriented career. In addition, the following qualifications are desired: Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) in English are required; Solid mathematical background will be a big plus; Solid background in security, cryptography, wireless communication, or networking will be a big plus; Previous research experience on security, networking, wireless communication, or distributed computing is a big plus, although not required ; Strong programming skills are highly desirable.
