答案选A，虽然知道其他几个都错了，觉得A前面应该加一个in，in less than...呢？感觉直接放一个less than在哪里总少点什么。

把A选项化简一下应该好理解一些

把Less than理解为修饰35 years的成分

可以这样理解吗？

因为后面有一个after the ... 如果没有的话就要加in,
比如：.... five years later
.....in five years.
上面一种就不需要加in, 下面就要in

因为题目就是这样的，所以说要理解只能这样理解，如果要我自己写句子我会加上一个in，阿七不妨这样记，是否存在in不是致命错误，但是如果有in的话更favorable。
这道题因为A的in貌似困惑了很多人，我也是看了前辈们的解答才理解
