大概意思：在商业成衣制作结构中，用单针头缝纫机包边的一个优势是当接缝被缝合的时候，缝份是（能够被）锁边的，而不像在一个分离的（缝纫）过程中会需要更宽的缝份。

这题很多生词，其实不需要纠结他的意思，根据句子结构就可以判断正确选项

这里主要就是判断两个对比结构是否平行
x：（serging ）over single needle sewing
y：（serging ）in a separate process
所以C,D,E选项都不能满足平行，因为y部分缺少个介词
剩下A,B。 我个人是觉得with表达的意思很显然没有in 好~~而且GMAT也更偏好rather than

Having no word such as over or at indicate location, choices A, B, and C fail to complete the parallel and so illogically draw a contrast between surface and series. In E, as against being is a wordy and unidiomatic way to establish the intended contrast. Choice D is best.
