women who took new jobs after retiring from their primary careers reported higher (more) marital satisfaction than those who retired completely did so (did so=reported)，因为主语不一样，所以两者比较时谓语动词不能省，不然就变成了退休后找到新工作的女人获得满意感比获得人要多。改变愿意了。

so 应该是指代动词report吧, 严谨的还求解高人！
