这题选D没有问题，可是我的疑问是这题D的it was为什么使用was呢？既然it指的是the state's economy 后面又没有be动词，为什么比较对象会要加was？ 非常疑惑，望解答

看了下大全170，发现也有用it was
(C) making the construction industry’s economic health much more robust than it was five years ago

是否是因为make的原因，这里完整的表达是making the state's economy (to be) far more diversified than it was( diversified) ten years ago.

照楼上的说法，看见making引导的结果状语从句，有比较时间先后的就加it was就是了？

我也不知道对make是不是通用...不过宾补结构和系表结构应该是这样
