Topic: distant leaning replaces classroom learning. Agree or disagree?

I can still vividly remember that Sue, my classmate and one of my best friends, used to say," You will never know how convenient it is to study online!" Well, when I am faced with the topic of distance learning and online computer classes, I can not help wondering: Should they replace classroom learning? Some people hold the opinion that they are surely better than classroom learning and should replace it while others consider that even though distance learning and online computer do have a lot of advantages, they can't take the role of classroom learning. From my perspective, I completely agree with the latter idea. I will explain why as follows.

To start with, if you study online, you are not under the direct guidance of teachers as in the classroom. In this case, if you have questions during the class, you can't get the answer immediately after class. Maybe you can send an e-mail to the teacher but it obviously takes more time. What's more, in the classroom, the teacher will receive the feedback from students by observing their facial expressions, which will help the teacher to know whether he or she has made the point understood. For example, if a teacher sees some students nodding their heads, he or she will surely know that the students understand what is being talking. Thus, classroom learning has unique features good for both teachers and students.

Moreover, a classroom environment is beneficial for students. Studying with each other, students have the opportunity to discuss problems they have encountered. In addition, they can also help each other with studying. Take myself as an example. When I was a junior high school student, I had a lot of trouble in learning mathematics. It was my good friend Kim who helped me out of the trouble. Patient and kind as she was, she explained every question clearly to me and gave me feasible suggestions of leaning the subject. What's more, students can do group work if they study in the classroom, through which they will learn not only the knowledge but also the ability to coordinate with others and finish a teamwork.

From all the above I have discussed, we can safely arrive at the conclusion that, despite of the fact that online learning does bring us some benefit, it can't replace classroom learning which gives us the environment to interact with teachers and classmates. Can you imagine that someday the online learning has replaced the classroom learning and you have to sit in front of a computer studying all day but without any kinds of interaction with a real human being?
