living in university housing or in an apartment in the community?
my elder brother told me last year when he came back to china form america.he told me that to be a student in an university, one has to face a question that whether to live in campus or off campus. although living in a house off campus provides students a lot of convenience, in my opinion, it is better to live in dormitory. for the reason that it is safer, more convenient and easier to make friends.
it is true that walking in the evening alone is rather dangerous because there are always some people do rubber when it is dark. as a result, the best choice is to live in a dormitory at school since it is less possible for the rubberer to stay in the campus. liveing in university has benefits that there security guard patroling day and night so as to make sure that the dormitory is safe enough for the sutendts to live in. that is to say one who live lin campus will never worry about being stolen or rubbered in there room. by contrast, it is possible that one living in an apartment alone be stolen of all his or her money, even be killed.
dormitories are usually in the uninversity. that is to say it is very convenient because the students are able to get to their class room earlier than the one who live far away from the university. the distance from a dormitory to the classroom is very short, not more than 1 kilometers. the students need not to take a bus or taxi during the rush time. they can have more time to sleep and have a good dream but not run to class with their room untidy.
further more, the dormitory is the place that many students live in togather. in a word, one can make friends with others easily. every day, they can have a talk about their home town or the most famous place in their conutry if they comes from different places in the world. they can also help each other on study if they majors in the same subject. they can have a party after the final exam , singing and dancing throughout the night.as a consequcence, they can soon become fairly good friends by living togather. it is without doubt that living in the apartment or in the community is unable for the students to make friends in such way. in my opinion, i agree that there are something good for one to live in apartment such as enabling the student to be independent, but considering what i mentioned above we can easily see the great benefit to live in campus. and that is why i prefer to live in university housing.
