关于so...as to和so...that的用法

这边遇到了几道题，有点迷惑，有的使用so...as to有的用so...that
我的理解是判断错误要看是否让修饰的词语产生了主动去做的歧义？

题目1
Technically, “quicksand” is the term for sand that is so saturated with water as to acquire a liquid’s character.
A. that is so saturated with water as to acquire a liquid’s character
B. that is so saturated with water that it acquires the character of a liquid （√）
我看到有的解释说 A中可能有歧义变成 water acquire了液体的性质，而不是sand，不太明白这一点，为什么会产生修饰到water的问题呢？B说有it代词指代不明，但是相比起来问题更小，这个可理解
题目2
Often major economic shifts are so gradual as to be indistinguishable at first from ordinary fluctuations in the financial markets.
A. so gradual as to be indistinguishable （√）
C. so gradual that they are unable to be distinguished

这里说unable出现让economic shifts有了主动地去被识别的意思，所以不合适

题目3

A newstudy suggests that the conversational pace of everyday life may be so brisk.................... sense of speech.

关于题目2，GmatLa的老师是这样分析的：
选项分析：

A选项：正确。so...as to...与so...that...表达的意思一样，均为“太…以至于…”，一种因果关系。他们的区别在于，so...as to...用于主语和to后面的动作的发出者一致时，而so...that...中，主语与that之后的主语不需要一致。

C选项：that后面的句子为“they are unable to be distinguished”，字面意思为“经济变化 是 没有能力 被辨别的”。

首先，经济变化作为一个抽象的东西，是不能说“有能力做某事或者没能力做某事”，其次，我们不能说“没能力被做某事”，因为有了能力之后肯定是主动去做某事，不能说被干嘛干嘛。

关于题目3，GmatLa的大神是这样分析的：
A选项：“区分声音和单词（distinguish discrete sounds and words）”和“展开讲话（make sense of speech）”应该均是小孩子没有能力做的事情，所以两者需要在语法上保持一致。另外，介词短语for distinguishing discrete sounds and words需改为不定式短语to distinguish discrete sounds and words。这点考查了不定式和ing的区别。用之于本题，主句“阻止小孩在某方面的能力”必然会直接影响“小孩分辨声音”这件事的发生与否，因此需要用不定式做ability的定语。

B选项：Correct. 本选项在语法和逻辑上均是正确的。
E选项：resulting in being unable to make是伴随状语，其主语应该是some children，但是，在逻辑上，某些小孩不能发出result这个动作。介词短语for distinguishing discrete sounds and words需改为不定式短语to distinguish discrete sounds and words错误同选项(A)。
