Prices at the producer level are only 1.3 percent higher now thana year ago and are going down, even though floods in the Midwest and drought inthe south are hurting crops and therefore raised corn and soybeanprices.

(A) than a year ago and are going down, eventhough floods in the Midwest and drought in the south are hurting crops andtherefore raised
(B) than those of a year ago, and are going down, even though floods in theMidwest and drought in the south are hurting crops and therefore raising
(C) than a year ago and are going down, despitefloods in the Midwest and drought in the south, and are hurting crops andtherefore raising
(D) as those of a year
ago and are going down, even though floods in theMidwest and drought in the south hurt crops and therefore raise
(E) as they were a year ago and are going down, despite floods in the Midwestand drought in the south, and are hurting crops and therefore raising

答案是B。因为OG解释说选项A中prices are higher now than a year ago之所以不对,是把prices和一个time(a year ago)在比较,所以要加上those of a year ago才对。

Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than lastbecause refiners are paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil than they were last year.

(A) Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last because refinersare paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil than they were

(B) Heating-oil prices are expected to rise higher this year over last becauserefiners pay about $5 a barrel for crude oil more than they did

(C) Expectations are for heating-oil prices to be higher this year than lastyear's because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel for crude oil more thanthey did

(D) It is the expectation that heating-oil prices will be higher this year overlast because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil now thanwhat they were

(E) It is the expected that heating-oil prices will rise higher this year thanlast year's because refiners pay about $5 a barrel for crude oil more than theydid

A选项are hurting和therefore raised不平行,而且明显hurt发生在raise前,时态也不对,排除。

Expectations are for.....,  It is the expectation that....., It is the expected that..... B中 rise higher....over....

prices this year are higher than those of last year
prices this year are higher than last year.

wild animals have less fat than livestock
wild animals have less fat than do livestock

EXACTLY.

ago and are going down, even though floods in theMidwest and drought in the south hurt crops and therefore raise
(E) as they were a year ago and are going down, despite floods in the Midwestand drought in the south, and are hurting crops and therefore raising

A 首先are hurting and raised就时态不同,而且不可能先raised,再Hurting。其次than a year比较对象有问题。
C 最后的and are hurting明显不对
D as不对
E as不对

(E) It is the expected that heating-oil prices will rise higher this year thanlast year's because refiners pay about $5 a barrel for crude oil more than theydid

A 可以
B over不对
E 没有必要用强调句it is,而且expected to do是固定搭配。

I ate more apples than my brother did. I ate more apples today than yesterday. I ate more apples than yesterday这就不行。
