请问大家，正确答案B中的the largest share做什么成分？是同位语吗？ 如果是同位语的话，它紧接着的是United States这个名词，为什么不能理解成它作US的同位语从而构成了一个错误的逻辑呢？

我感觉是因为前面的句子是 residents of the US。of the US是residents的一个modifiers。所以不是修饰US的

但是这样的话也不是在修饰residents啊…… 而且没有说modifier不能被另一个修饰语修饰吧，the largest share应该是a quarter的同位语，但不知道这么大跨度的修饰是什么语法呢？

the largest是在作a quarter的同位语， a quarter of all foreign-born residents of the United States
                                                    a quarter of all foreign-born residents+modifier(修饰resident)
                                                    a quarter+modifier（整体作为modifier修饰quarter）
而且可以用排除法。DE的having the largest明显不对，因为COMMA+v-ing修饰前面整句话，就得MEXICO having the largest...但是这些人口已经不属于MEXICO了，因此逻辑不对。消除。如果说是：having contribute large number of immigrants to American population，是可以的（以上是RON大说的）。
而C中，which指代紧跟前面的名词US，明显不对。也可以消除
答案就只剩AB了。而A中的for不对，也消除，所以选B
