B选项 为什么不认为humming birds survive.... 和their range  是两个独立句子。然后缺少连词呢？
不太理解传说中的两个独立句子之间必须用连词。是哪些情况？
求大神么解释一下

因为 their range 后面是 extending，V-ing就失去了谓语作用了。

一个独立的句子结构必须包括主语＋谓语／主语＋系动词（be/see...）＋表语（祈使句不考虑），所以如果一个句子中出现两个或多个上述的句子结构，就要用连词来连接。

所以重点就是要抓住句子的结构。ps要注意一些陷阱，像B选项里面extending就不是谓语
