正确答案是B，求牛牛指教A为什么错了呢？还有increasing temperature一定错吗，一定只能用an increase in temperature吗？

看完曼哈顿上的Ron的解释恍然大悟
首先是 suffering from dwindling food supplies的问题，这里主要表达的意思是suffering from food supplies（原文想要表达的是因为食物的减少，重点在减少，而不是减少的食物，减少的食物的重点就变为了食物）
第二点是resulting from increasing的resulting from，resulting from后面跟的是原因，主句表达的就是结果，原因发生在结果之前，因此绝对不可能用',+v.ing'来表达，因为',+v.ing'表示的动作是同时发生的，不能一先一后。
Ron举的例子，大家感受下
Ray was sad because of his favorite shoes, which had been stolen from his car
--> not sensible

Ray was sad because of his stolen shoes
--> not sensible

Ray was sad because his favorite shoes had been stolen from his car
--> this makes sense.

Ray was sad because of the theft of his favorite shoes (from his car)
--> this makes sense.

啊是选项c。我懂了～
这点跟og上一题埃及金字塔内部需要关闭来清理因为游客呼出气体的水分增加了湿度这个点有点像

你说的是选项C……
这是另外一个错误，“原因”是“减少”，而不是“食物供给”，所以表达这个原因时，可以用的方式有：
1）用句子表达：“食物供给减少了”
2）一定要用名词的话，这么说：“食物供给的减少”
错误的方法是：“减少的食物供给”。
不考虑resulting from的错误，仅考虑上述错误，也可以做对此题。

选项a的“dwindling food supplies”不可以翻译成变少的食物供给吗？虽然a后面的increasing有错，但是我觉得suffer的原因这点和选项b的“food supplies, which were dwindling” 意思应该没有差别啊？

这题我感觉PREP的解释有点扯。。。。或者说如果ving做形容表示进行所以我们一定要用ed形式来表结果否则这句子就不对了，那么很多句子就不对了。。。所以这种说法很牵强，考试容易钻牛角尖的。

看这句话的逻辑意思就是temperature increase-> food supplier dwindling->creature suffer 前者是造成后者的原因，依次递进。
那么再来看选项，A, 这里的resulting from放在句末，如果理解成伴随修饰were suffering,那么逻辑意思错误，suffer一件事情同时他又由于什么什么..非常不通顺。那如果表结果。。就更奇怪了，suffer food supplier伴随着一个结果，然后这个结果又是resulting from+..是一个原因。那到底是原因还是结果呢。。一团乱。。。所以我就能理解前面有同学引用Ron的话，resulting from一般直接跟名词后面，而不是这样comma,ving形式。
还有一点，注意food supplier这里，creature suffer的对象是food supplier在减少这件事情，而不是food supplier，所以A和B有本质的区别。这种错误GMAT考的挺多的，句子一复杂我们往往会忽略，我自己倒是觉得这是一个可以快速作出判断的依据。

这里的fashioned是以过去分词的形式出现的，在GMAT中，过去分词一般是做noun-modifer修饰就近的名词，这个在manhattan上有指出来（虽然我记得好像看过V-ed不一定修饰靠近它的名词但是很少，忘记是哪个例子了），看manhattan的83页和89页。也就是说，v-ed没有修饰整个句子的功能。

这里只看A选项，OG对A选项有这么一句的解释：Placement of the modifier "fashioned…" suggests that the Empire( the closest noun), not the images of the deities, was fashioned.

应该说“，ving”这种形式肯定是容易产生岐义的，这也是它的妙用。我也认为",ving"只能做状语而不能做定语，至少不应该做相邻名词的定语，因为这样做挺省事，gmat中似乎也行的通，但是其实语法书上并不是这样写的。在这里如果想让它当定语，需要的是一种被动关系，所以应该是resulted from
