【4.19】更新一些关于这个项目的信息（包括人数，career service等）


The Master of Finance is a full-time program only, and we are anticipating an in-coming class of 20-30 this first fall.  We have certainly seen a lot of interest from international applicants, from China but also from elsewhere in Asia and from Europe.  We do also see interest from US domestic students, and our Finance faculty have been actively promoting the program among exceptional graduating students and alumni at UCSD and elsewhere.  Master of Finance students will also have some electives classes shared with our Full-Time MBA students, and will truly be part of our larger (and very diverse) graduate student community here at Rady  and across campus.

We obviously don’t know exactly what the placement results for Master of Finance students will be, but our Careers staff has deep experience working with our international MBA students, and we see good success there.  Master of Finance students will be able to use CPT during the summer term, while also working on the Applied Finance Project.  We have very specifically designed the curriculum to allow students to both be in internships and be completing that project during the summer, so that you’ll have the ability to use CPT then – and also have 12 months of OPT after graduation.  We expect at least some of the Applied Finance Projects to come from companies, which may also be useful for students as they seek employment.

The program is designed as a one year experience, and we expect that it would only be in exceptional cases that it might be extended (ie, illness, family emergency, etc).

I hope this helps.  We will be, beginning within the next few weeks, additional information to admitted students:  we’ll have webinars with faculty to talk more about specifics of curriculum and what you should expect; with Careers to talk about how they work with students; with our Student Services group on student life, etc.  We’ll also be sending out information on PreTerm (orientation).

关于课程，就业什么的，我看其他帖子描述也都大差不离，昨天和我们的coordinator聊了一小会，我就稍微说一下今年的情况，今年ucsd收到的申请过千个（有点略火啊。。。），然后今年应该是会收75个人左右，目前交了deposit的大约42个。
