我知道ing一般表伴随，或者结果，这里显然都不是。但是ing 不是也可以表示修饰前面紧邻的一个词么？这里可不可以说，arguing 修饰Discourse on Women 这本书呢？？？

要理解语义

本题的关键是解释 那本书的作用和内容，而不是用arguing 来进一步解释publish这个动作。

如果要做定语，需要去掉逗号

如果是 LM wrote her Discourse on Women, arguing for women to have equal political and legal rights...是不是会更加贴近表伴随呢？
如果是LM published her Discourse on Women, earning a very high stage of popularity. 就是表结果了？求大niu指导

我个人觉得arguing可以修饰treatise,但是他有歧义，可能是Lucretia Mott在arguing呢。。（有的时候，正确的答案也会有歧义，只不过他是最优的而已）。。。除了，arguing,还有其他的错误呢。。
gmat中这里选的是更好的答案，
