中C 选项，中ing修饰前句主语应该是cloud 而不是strom啊。难道前从句主语是storm？

找到了：
          1.v-ing结构在句子末尾时，如果前面是主谓宾结构，如果同时时态上与主句搭配合理，v-ing结构作状          语，作为：一，伴随动作，与主句同时发生。二，伴随借过，表示主句所带来的结果。brightening 和knocking在这里我觉得是cloud 在trigger storm后所带来的结果
           2，如果前面是主系表结构，由于系动词是一个状态不存在“被伴随”,ving结构修饰整个主系表结构，也可以说是修饰前面的名词成分——主语。（如果宾语是名词，也一同修饰，因为主系表结构中{a is b}主语和宾语所致是同一事物）..

分词作结果状语，对主句的修饰。修饰前句主语应该是cloud 还是strom这种讨论，没什么意义。
