我想问一下为什么 “face”前面不加 “to”啊？ 不是要和前面的"to retire"平行吗？
这种问题真的把我弄疯了，有的时候平行结构前后 都要带上介词，有的时候可以不用。
那到底什么时候必须带上啊？哪位大神给总结分析一下啊。。。快哭了。。。

The to can be omitted in the second infinitive (and all the rest), unless there is a parallelism marker before the first infinitive. For example:

We would like NOT ONLY to hear your side of the story BUT ALSO to provide a response.

In this sentence, NOT ONLY...BUT ALSO is the parallelism marker. More importantly, you can find a a parallelism marker (NOT ONLY) right before the first infinitive (to hear), so you cannot omit TO.

In sentence above, no parallelism marker is in front of the infinitive (to retire early), so you can omit TO in this case.

这样两个to, 后面的to 可以省略. 但是 如果是 to do, to do and do, 这样就不对了. 必须加to . 这句话to 应该不是主要判断点吧..  等待NN
