1 The Glass House Mountains in Queensland,Australia, were sighted in 1770 by the English navigator Captain James Cook, bywhom they were named supposedly because its sheer wet rocks glistened (闪闪发光的)likeglass.
(A)   by whom they were namedsupposedly because its(被动语态罗嗦&单复数不一致)
(B)   by whom they were namedsupposedly and their  (改变句子原意,没有突出because)
(C)   naming them supposedly sincetheir  (句子主语是Mountains而非James Cook)
(D)  who sonamed them supposedly because their
(E)   who so named it since supposedly their(主谓不一致)

2 Although a surge(汹涌,大潮) in retail sales have raised hopes that there is a recovery finally un ...

和 raise hopes that sth. do...
