第41 Some people think that human needs for farmland, housing, and industryare more important than saving land for endangered animals. Do you agree or disagree withthis point of view? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. There is a widespread concern centers on how to balance the need forfarmland, housing and industry and the need to save land for endangered animals. The problem becomes more and more acute since the industrialization has speededup and affect our environment adversely. It is time for us to figure out whichone is more important for future development. Personally, I am in favor of theidea that we should save land for animals in danger. Let me further explain myideas in the following paragraphs. Mostimportantly, sustainable development arises as the major issue for futuremanagement. This tragedy may benefit our human long-term interest. However, ifwe sacrifice our land for human development, such as building farmlands, housings or industries, human beings will someday be in danger. Farmland willtake up a large amount of habitats for birds, fishes and other animals. Withoutthe necessary living space is like birds without trees and fishes without water. As a result, the animals will die from hunger, diseases and so on. Let alongendangered animals, which are more sensitive and vulnerable to the changes in environment. Inaddition, as a lover for nature, I strongly support the idea of land saving foranimals in danger. When I was a child, I grew up in a small town, surrounded bygreen trees and flourish flowers. I enjoy the time when I sang with the birdevery morning, play with my backyard butterflies and watched the fishes in thepond swim cheerfully. I know how environment affects people as well as animals. If farmland, housing and industry replace this peaceful living environment, Iwill be so sad to see the animals die in succession. Last but not least, we have already stepped into the society ofindustry, which means we have excessively developed our human communication, farming and industry. Now time is right for us to emphasize the need forenvironmental protection. Saving lands for endangered animal can be one of theseurgent problems. We no longer need big houses to accomadate more people; we don’tneed to expand our farming areas; neither do we need to sacrifice a good livinghabitat for industry. Pollutions and deforestation are enough. We should nolonger ignore these horrible problems. Instead, attention for our lovelyfriends—animals—are badly needed especially in this industrial society. Generally speaking, the need for saving lands for endangered animals surpassesthat for farming, housing and industry.
