官方答案C，OG解释是：

The latter two events are in a conjunction, so they should be represented by similar verb forms.

我的问题是关于正确答案C的疑问，从OG的解释可以判断brightening和knocking这modifier的修饰的是a large storm；
而从选项C来看a large storm在前一句中做宾语，问题就来了。comma+ving只能修饰前句主语或者整句，这里怎么修饰前句的宾语了？
求各路大牛解答！

可以的，作为不必要的名词的修饰成分，被修饰的名词和修饰成分之间加逗号

话说那道题解释错啦 是修饰preceding clause，applies to 从句主语breakwater的。baby姐详细说过的。

这不是s,ving,vo结构的问题吧。这个选项不是SV0，Ving么？然后OG说Ving可以修饰O！求解释！！一直很困惑。
