正确答案为E

我对本句的理解是：有着上百只眼(即复眼)组合成的眼睛的结构帮助了科学家解释“它”的进化与无脊椎动物眼睛的进化是相互独立的.此处它即it,我认为有歧义,好像指代了the structure，但是GMAC的解释是

itcorrectly refers to the singular nounthe compound insect eye.

不知道我的理解哪里出了问题，求大牛们指教！！~~~~~

个人觉得哈：语义上来说，能跟vertebrate eye对应的只能使insect eye，而不是structure

请问大神们~og答案里说，having修饰的是the intricate structure，那么为什么with就可以修饰 the compound eye呢？

我感觉it指的还是the compound eye，毕竟是眼睛evolve of眼睛~不能复杂的结构evolve of眼睛吧？这里的the intricate structure我觉得只是帮助解释了问题。。并不是后面的那个it所指代的。。仅供参考，我也刚刚开始复习

个人觉得It是可以指代Structure，也可以指代the compound eye，也就是说语法上是存在歧义的，不过从逻辑上的话，it歧义倒不大。毕竟由于GMAT考的更多的是最优选项，而且更多的是注重逻辑考查，其他选项都有明显错误的时候，E选项应该是属于趋于最优的了。

我想卤煮排除的点是通过they 和 it的split来区分的吧？


3个选项包含的it，2个选项包含的they
永远记住代词指代实在是太没有节操了
假设要argue
they能指代的还有scientist，eyes之类一切的compounded noun
对吧？不见得就比it省心


先把其他更致命的错误都一一排掉了，剩下了真的不行了，last resort就去考虑代词的指代（要不然都默认为最符合逻辑的指代对象）
排除的先后性还是很有学问的

恩，是，they错的太明显，且不论，但就指代问题我稍总结一下，麻烦您挑挑毛病~
代词指代绝对错误判断条件：
1.代词是否有指代对象（比如一些放在句首的代词没有指代对象，是吧？）
2.代词与其指代对象的单复数是否保持一致（如词句中they可以判为绝对错误）

除此两点，若指代仍存歧义，就按逻辑意思去忍让它，先挑别的明显的绝对错误。

恩，有领悟到，evolved of动作发出者的逻辑唯一性即eye，可以这么理解吧？

GMAT中的指代遵从就近原则，with its hundreds of miniature eyes called ommatidia是插入语，所以这里面离it最近的the compound eye就是它所指代的。语法没有问题，GMAT的考试原则是Grammar第一Meaning第二Concision第三，所以不会存在Grammar有歧义的选项
