答案選B。
我選了C。理由如下
原句子應該是The contractor and the engineer agree on the cause of the bridge failure, but （the contractor and the engineer）____________
          所以省略主語是複數the contractor and the engineer，each加在主語後面，謂語應該依舊是複數才是啊

           丫还给了个例句： They each Are great tennis players.
            还给例句注解说： Here, the plural subject they requires the plural verb form 'are'

从纯语感的角度，B读起来是最顺的。。。但选的时候脑中突然闪过manhanttan里的这句话。。于是瞬间凌乱了啊- -|||
单纯的想弄懂这个语法点，恳请解答。

each前面是复数，那是独立主格的用法，这个each都作主语了，纠结个什么呀亲。。。

我的理解，but要加完整句子，这里的each不是做同位语了，而是当主语了。根据SV agreement，固定搭配【each other】。选B
