OG 12 SC 11 平行问题。

是 由于 有but 连接所以是 ways to build 和 method to ...平行。

但是 这里面 ways 是做的 宾语， method 做的是 主语，  个人感觉应该是.

用 simple gerund 来连接。

希望NN可以指点一下。

如果LZ这么改的话，动名词必然是做宾语，但动名词做宾语是有限制的，比如动名词做名词前面要加介词，或加名词，或加形容词，但绝不可以直接在be 动词后面直接做宾语。因为这样的话，动名词就不是动名词了，而是和be一起组成进行时态做直接谓语，而不是宾语了。比如LZ改的这句，
the most extensively used method (to build walls) has been forming the mud or clay into bricks,and, after some preliminary air drying or sun drying, laying them in the wall in mud mortar.
就是现在完成进行时态的句子，和原来想表达的意思完全不同。

额，事实上，method还可以加of，而且还是优先to的搭配。。。不明白楼主的意思希望别人解答吧。。。

prep08上说。method is to do 是固定搭配，暂且就这么记吧。。

为什么我没看懂。。。
为什么要补出括号里面的部分呢？这里method和way都是作为方式讲，不会有歧义啊。。。不明白你的意思

因为不是要way to 和 method to 平行么？ 个人的拙见是，应该是这样才平行。ways to build solid walls using just mud or clay和 method (to build walls using just mud or clay） has been .....(后面是一个NOUN）  

bat说的，method has been to .... and to ...... 是和 way to 平行， 我感觉不太明白.
