issue 70 水平差求拍

70 Claim: Universities should require every student to take a variety of courses outside the student's major field of study.

Reason: Acquiring knowledge of various academic disciplines is the best way to become truly educated.
 In the topic,the claim advocates that students should be required to take a bunch of courses outside the student's major field,for the reason that acquiring knowledge of  various academic disciplines is the best way to become truly educated.I strongly disagree with this reason.First,I doubt that what is "truly educated";secondly,I don not think it is the best way to achieve it.Moreover,I think not everyone should be required,for their situation may be different from each other.

 First of all,what is "truly educated"?"truly educated" is not a definiated word that has some certain meanings.Instead,to each student,the definition of "truly educated" varies.I concede that truly,that acquiring knowledge of various academic disciplines mat be a good choice to many of the students.However,to some others,it will not be appealing.For everyone has his own goal,his own dream,and his plan to achieve it.Consider someone deeply fascinating in a particular field.his dream may be to be specialist or a researcher,the position that seldom requires a lot of knowledge outside the student's major field,rater it needs somebody to deeply engage in the certain subject.For him,to study outside the student's major field could be a waste of time,or even an impediment or obstacle of his career.

 And acquiring knowledge of various academic disciplines perhaps is not the best way.Acquiring knowledge is one aspect,acquiring how to use it in the real life is more important.In many situations,how to use knowledge is superior to just knowing the mere fact.So,to acquiring how to use,the best way may lie in the experiment and practice.Take my major,communication technology,for example.Just know how to communicate with each other in a long distance is a easy thing,but when starting to practice,it is more complicated than the mere facts in the text book,for a lot of factors of environment may affect the result.knowing a lot may not mean the ability to use it adroitly.So,to some extent,just acquiring knowledge is not enough.

 At last,To require everyone to take a bunch of courses is not feasible.To take a bunch of courses means that the students should leave some time to study out of their field,or even sacrifice their major course to learn these irrelevant things.To some student that have a lot of leisure time,it is feasible.But to many others,who has devoted their most of time studying  major course, this is not reasonable.In the college,studying inside academic discipline is much more important,and it is improper to force all students to choose a lot of course that is of little use in their future,or even put a bunch of courses outside the student's major field in the priority.For it is a responsibility for college to cultivate its student with specific knowledge,to equip them with the skills to survive in the society.then goes to let them acquire knowledge of  various academic disciplines.

 So to sum up,I disagree with the author's claim.acquiring knowledge may be not be best way to make students be "truly educated",and"truly educated"is different to each individual.To let more people become "truly educated",it may requires more effort for the educators and the participators to make more flexible policy,to suit more student,rather than simply requiring all the student to take monotonous action.

这是中国式的排比句,英文里貌似不能这样写。
