The speaker claims that a nation should require all of its students to study the same national courses before they are admitted to college, at the first glance , the opinion seems to be somewhat convincing, but further reflection on that shows that it is so complicated an issue that needs a case-to-case study, and I tend to hold the view that the same national curriculum has both its advantages and its disadvantages, whether to adopt the policy that all students are asked to take the same national course should be based on the real situation of a country.


To begin with, there are many obvious advantages to ask all the students to take the same courses before they enter college. On one hand, it benifits the students, for exmaple, a family that frequently moves from one state to another state because of the need of the parents' work will be glad to see that the policy that the all the students take the same national curriculum to be adopted, there is no need for them to worry about that their kids cannot get accustomed to the new curriculum. On the other hand, it is also conducive to the communication between those educators who carry out the curriculum, teachers from different states just have no difficulty in exchanging ideas about teaching better , thus it will finally facilitate a better teaching method.


However, despite the obvious advantages discussed above, there are some disadvantages which we can see. For students all over the country that take the policy that the whole students should take the same national course before their college time, as is knwon to all , there are many students with various talents who may not be accustomed to the national curriculum, thus if those students are forced to take the lessons they do not take interest in, not only their talent will be wasted, but also their bright future will be ruined because of the boring schoolwork imposed on them. At the same time, different teachers ahve different teacing style, if the teachers are asked to teach the same lessons all the years, their teaching ability will surely deteriorate.


In conclusion, the policy that students should take the same national coures both have its advantafes and its disadvantages,

In this argument, the arguer claims that they should restore the time devoted to weather and local news to its former level in order to attract more viewers to the program and to avoid losing any further advertising revenues, this recommendation is based on the fact that most of the complaints received from viewers were concerned with the station's coverage of wenther and local news when the national news gained increased time while the weather and local news had less time. In addition , the arguer assumes that local business cancelled the contracts because of the change of time devoted to the weather and local news. However , a careful examination of this argument would reveal that the argument is rife with holes.


First of all, the argument assumes that most of the complaints received were concerned with the coverage of weather and local news because of the change of tiem devoted to weather and local news part, it is hasty for the arguer to make an assumption like this, there is a possibility that even more complaints went to the station's mailbox before the coverage change. Also, the argument just does not provide any information about the how many people made the complaints and who made those complaints, if there are one or two people who made the complaints like this , they should not be take great consideration, and if people who make the complaints did not tell the truth for some reasons , for exmaple, the contestant of the station made these dishonest complaints in order to confuse the staion's leader, then the complaints would not be reliable.


Additionally, the arguer mistakes the result of less time devoted to weather and local news for the reason that the local business cancelled the advertising contracts, however , without more information about the real reason why the local business made such decision, it is unwise to make the judgement that the former cause the latter, it is very likely that the local business find that the effect of advertising on the station is not good enough, and may be that the style of the station cannot work in harmony with the style of the local business, thus , there is nothing to do with the less time devoted to the weather and local news when the local busines made the decision.
