what不能替代that，但是我做题时候把它理解为同位语，what有这样的用法吗？

fearing is the wrong tense; rather to come does
not complete the second part of the sentence
idiomatically.
recession后面的定语从句，recession充当宾语，难道不是可以省略that的吗？
