OG里对E的解释是的being的错误是Placingbeingin front ofsomeoneis potentially misleading; it could illogically refer to Ellington himself. 我很不明白为什么放在这会逻辑上的误指Ellington himself。前面有DASH是emphatic的作用，但是也不能解释refer to Ellington himself呀？。。不解

你说的这个和E选项一样吧，这里的dash还是解释的意思，但是being放在这里没有增加任何意思，很wordy。加了和没加没有区别的。

1. Let's think about "being" form from "be"

  so, the "being" has four key uses1) V(progressive tense), not suitable!
                                                      (2)N(Gerund), can be a Sbj of V/ Obj of V/ Obj of Prep, not suitable here!
                                                      (3)Adj(present participel)can modifier a N/ Pron.(without comma)(before/after)
                                                                                            can modifier a V+V's (with comma)(before/after)
                                                      (4)Adv(present participle)can modifier V/A/Adv/Prep/phrase/clause

here may be the uses(4) to modify a whole clause.

大致 是三楼的 那位的意思。
有的时候 看BEING 还是DONE   这两类 现在分词 过去分词。 句子太长都看不出主语 意思 逻辑 是很正常的我觉得。 记得高考的时候 最简单的就是 看见being 就说明 动词和主语是主动关系。看见done 就和主语 是被动关系。所以我觉得 相同的道理，你看到 ING 形式 跟在后面，外国人的 逻辑就一定默认这是在继续描述或者形容主语，所以动作的发生发出者 都和主语相关。所以 OG 的解释才会说 逻辑上 误导大家怎样怎样~~我的说法不一定 在语法上可以和好的解释 但起码 会让你 有语感，就是因为语感，所以 我和楼主比，我怕看到这个解释 就不会很疑惑~~哈哈 希望你看懂 我的 叨叨了~~

I got you，你的意思也能说明being在修饰主语~~这样说也蛮好的~ 加深理解~ 我搞gmat语法的时候很多时候不能马上和以前学的语法相联系，可能也是像你说的那样被og的解释给“迷惑”了~ 其实不管怎么样只要能理解了使得做题有有个逻辑思路就好~~PS：谢谢回帖哈~~

You can use dash as an emphatice comma, semicolon, or colon. 第二种情况就是You can also use the dash to restate or explain an earlier part of the sentence. Unlike the colon, the dash does not need to be immediately preceded by the part needing explanation.但是木有准确说dash后面直接加解释的对象哦。。这里的being的错误我觉得还是v-ing形式作定语修饰了前面那句话的主语，逻辑上说不通。

LZ。。。。。今天才看到这个帖子，，，，是我记错鸟。。。。囧囧囧。。。sorry啦，给看成冒号的用法了。。。囧囧囧。
对于E选项，其实是完整句子+破折号，那么后面就是对前句内容的的解释说明（用法2），单单看being someone，其实就是个being+n的罗嗦表达，而应该为直接加someone who做前句的同位语即可。

LZ破折号的用法：后面直接加你要表达的内容，不加什么修饰成分，所以being纯属多余，直接就加someone啦。。。。。。。
