求教几个零碎的语法问题

1. MANT里关于Idiom一章中
It seems as if this result demonstrates the theory.
疑问：  为什么不是It seems as if this result demonstrated the theory?
          as if 只有在it seems 之后不用虚拟吗？！
2.在MANT里貌似Comparison一章
wrong:The newspaper costs 50 cents as much as that one
这句话为什么错？（不好意思我找不到出处了，但是确定MANT里有将此句判错）

3. MANT P170
Right: He writes 10 books, double the number that Sara writes.    
Wrong: He writes double the letters that Sara did.
牛津高阶字典：He earns double what she earns
第一句中double做number的adj，为什么第二句里不行（牛津字典里的用法是错的？）
4.  He chooses to seek for help rather than faces problems?  
or  He chooses to seek for help rather than to face problems?

PS. 关于that one， 你是指that one不能指代 that newspaper吗？

1.没有规定as if后面一定要跟虚拟，只要情况是真实的，result确实 demonstrates the theory，就可以用陈述语气。
2.one是泛指，that one是特指，that one指的是啥？你说呢。
3.一句double作的是限定词（determiner）
 二句我读了几十遍发现或许Sara did可以指writes double the letters ，就变成了Sara double了letters,然后He跟着做了一遍的 感觉，你说呢。
4. 第一句 faces problems和 chooses 平行
 第二句 to face和to seek平行
 至于哪个对，看语境喽，你说呢.
