我觉得是选B，你看A选项：

先不说thereby boosting consumption的修饰错误
“it will stimulate demand by increasing supply and lowering prices”
这里，我觉得，一般句子里面如果出现表动作的词(比如这里的increasing and lowering)，就肯定要有主语，这个主语要么在句子中，要么可以很明显的看出来不在句子中，而这里，感觉好像it做了increase和lower这两个动作的主语，it指代improved efficiency in converting harvest tress into wood products，这样不符合逻辑。

我觉得,increase和lower, 这两个词，找动作发出者，好像怎么都不太对，所以B中用了because of~~~

其次，boosting确实表达了伴随状语或结果状语其中的一种，这里我认为是结果状语，下面是OG中的一句话，差不多：

似乎我们的主要分歧在逻辑意思上，即thereby boosting是否为前面整个句子的immediate and direct consequence. 换句话讲，是consumption导致demand，还是demand导致consumption.

我个人是倾向于前者，consumption-->demand。consumption是承接在increasing supply和lowering prices后的结果，而这个结果（consumption)又进一步导致demand。从我个人的常识判断，是先有consumption才有demand，呵。

关于你给的例子，逻辑上是完全合理的。lead参入了discus，结果是提高了稳定性。但我们讨论的这个问题里，improved efficiency刺激了demand的结果是boost consumption吗？好像是反过来哦。

improved efficiency --> increasing supply and lowering price --> boosting consumption --> stimulate demand，这里存在明显的因果关系，是先有consumption然后有demand，不是反过来。

A中，
1. thereby boosting consumption没法与increasing supply and lowering price平行，grammatically unfit.
2. 如果把thereby boosting consumption当作前面句子的“comma+V.ing”讲不通。“，V.ing”的意义有表主句动作的伴随，immediate and direct consequence, 主句意思的自然extension，但上面三个用法没一个能在这里表达consumption-->demand的逻辑因果关系，therefore, its use here can not be justified。

B中，
which修饰increasing supply and lowering price，这样的用法在其它OG题目是存在的，语法上和从此处的context讲也完全合理。because of明确表达出了后面一连串动作导致前面的结果，perfectly fine。

A：
您说的那个逻辑过程我认为没有错，在做题时我也考虑过，可是我读起来，原句的意思更像是在表达由improved efficiency引起的两个方向的不同的变化，可以看到句首有一个Although，所以，句子本身的逻辑我是这样理解的“虽然improved efficiency reduce了harvest rates（看似negative的影响，市场供给方面），但是它另一方面还可以刺激需求（这是市场需求方面）”，而by指明了刺激需求的方式，也可以说是刺激需求这一结论的premise。

再看看句尾thereby doing吧~句尾逗号加V-ing的修饰问题是个老问题了，在这个我认为使用没有问题：
首先，boosting确实修饰了preceding clause，且boosting能够apply to subject of the preceding clause；
其次，boosting确实表达了伴随状语或结果状语其中的一种，这里我认为是结果状语，下面是OG中的一句话，差不多：

B:
