You need to, firstly, figure out what the oringinal sentence intended to express, then try to find the answer choices matching the original meaning best and, at last, compare those with similar meanings to single out ones expressing the meaning not so correctly and concisely and see whether the best answer choice you prefer has no misunderstanding.

Also, you may apply the traditional way to rule out the choices with "absolute mistake" for you. Thus requires a good master of the general English grammar and pretty much practice, perhaps spending much time, if you are not familiar with the grammar, because you need to go through every choice very carefully to seek every possible mistake. The rest of work is still dealing with meaning.

To sum up, meaning is the most vital factor you need to consider when coping with a sentence with long underline, and it is the meaning that makes the best choice stand out.
