Parents are the best teachers.agree or disagree?

I agree with this statement that parents are the best teachers of their children insofar as parents are willing to perform the task of careful parenting via learning and practicing. No one is born best teacher, even for parents. But parents are blessed to at the best position to become best teachers.

At first, parents have no doubt the bliss to become best teachers of their children. From giving birth to watching their children become adults, parents in most cases play an indispensable role in children’s life. This role is all about caring and teaching. Parents teach infants to simile and communicate with body, toddlers to walk and speak, teenagers to study and do homework, youngsters to deal with problems in growth and to love. Sometimes the parents implement their teaching consciously, while other times unconsciously.  My parents, for example, were doing great job in teaching when I was young. I still remember my mother’s support and admonishment on my keeping pets(bunny, fish and silkworms). She taught and helped me take care of my pets while in the same time she told me to have responsibility on the little animals. I learnt from her about the respect and kindness to all kinds of life. My father was also the best teacher to teach me be concentrated,serious and persistent on any valuable tasks via making himself good examples for me to emulate.          

Secondly, understanding a lot of knowledge from text books or imparted from school teachers will not suffice one to live a happy, successful and complete life. During the growth of children, the missing part of knowledge and wisdom about life are best to be filled by parents’ influence.  Believe or not, parents help us mold our view of life, value and the world. Children from a family filled with love are good at expressing love to others. Children whose parents are a great couple are likely to start and maintain a great relationship with their future spouses. There are cases that people holding doctoral degrees have serious troubles in making friends and balancing life and work.  There are also people who didn’t hold any degree are liked by everyone in the neighborhood and are elected as regional representative of people. The seeming paradox will be solved if you trace the people’s early life with their parents.    

Finally, as I mentioned previously, parents can’t become best teachers automatically. Without putting heart on learning and practicing about how to be good parents, parents will possibly do as they wish to impact their children. They may either set for their children unrealistic high standards even the parents can’t achieve, or unconsciously express bad habits and negative attitudes that their children mimic into their own personality. Although parents are in best position to teach children, they also have risk to become worst teachers who make bad influence on children’s personality which will not be easy to change when the children become adults.

之前练习GMAT作文害的，总想观点平衡。看来TOEFL作文应该写的明确一点。
