请教----关于分词的修饰对象

今天做OG第56题：Many of the earliest known images of Hindu deities in India date from the time of the Kushan Empire, fashioned either from the spotted sandstone of Mathura or Gandharan grey schist.
看到答案对A中分词fashioned的解释是：Placement of the modifier fashioned...suggestes that the Empire(the closest noun), not the images of the deities, was fashioned out of these materials.

请问逗号后面的分词一般都修饰最近的名词吗？可是我怎么记得分词都是修饰主句的主语来着？

比如OG第66题：把B答案带进去是：The 32 species that... are closely related to whales and in fact include the animal known as the killer whale, growing as big as 30 feet long and famous for its aggressive hunting pods. 答案说B不对是由于growing introduces ambiguity, because it could refer back to the subject of the sentence(32 species).

请教各位NN到底怎么判断分词修饰对象是谁，判断修饰有没有歧义呢？

这题里面的date和were fashioned可以用and并列吗？时态都不同。。。

恩可以并列的。句子中两个动词并列时态不一定非要一致。动词时态是根据句子需要确定的。
比如上面那个题中date是一个客观事实，说明images追溯到KE时代，而were fashioned则是说images 在过去是由。。。或。。。造的。（我不知道fashion在这里确切的意思。。），但他们都是image的动词，所以可以并列。
不知道这样说你明白不？

【，V-ing】形式偏向于作句尾状语，修饰主句主语表伴随或修饰主句全句表结果。

【,V-ed】在任何情况向，V-ed都会作为形容词，修饰紧邻名词，作定语。

【,V-ed】在任何情况向，V-ed都会作为形容词，修饰紧邻名词，作定语。
