第一題，先看看這一句
I name my kid after my uncle joey .  我以我舅舅 joey來命名我的小孩。
這裡 after 有 "跟隨" ，"以……為準"的意思。
所以model A after B.  就是以B為準來 做A.

第二題，
after oil reserves are exhausted   ---- 在油被開採完之後
這句是指哪天油被用完了，只是敘述一件事。
after exhausting its oil reserves ---- 在開採完油之後
這句是指哪天把油用完了之後，有意圖將油用完的意思，但沒有一個國家希望他的油會用完，所以句意上有些不合邏輯。
