我的问题是
1，E选项为什么不对？OG说
This sentence does not make it clear that Olive is a party to the rivalry 意思就是没有说明Olive是这场rivalry中的一员吧。但是读读E，明明说了是Olive，and the rivalry with her cousin啊，
2，解释里的rivals X and Y是啥意思，怎么能这样说呢，X和Y指两个rival方？但总要有个主语吧，那样的话，不就是3方rival了吗？比如说 He rivals Tom and Jerry ？？< 前面还有个the，那么rival当名词用的时候，后面还有个s
上面rivals的问题已经解决，但还是不明白E。

虽然我可以理解，E的确改变了原意，但E的解释说没有说明Olive是rivalry的一员我不理解。明明说the rivalry with her charming and cynical cousin了。。。

E选项看前面，原句的意思是说某本书centers on the rivalry, 但E则变成了某本书centers on the active feminist，明显不对

rival作为名词时，是指竞争和冲突的一方

the rivals x and y 是指冲突方X和Y，结构就好像是 the partners you and me
如句子：The rivals Techcon and Digicore share some common interest in developing the new model of micro chips. 强调的是竞争的双方仍然有共同利益。

rivalry between ... and...则是强调竞争的关系。如句子 The rivalry between Techcon and Digicore has somehow spurred the innovations in micro chip technology. 说明的是竞争关系有某种作用，而不是竞争的双方。

原句中，小说要么是着眼于竞争关系，要么是关注于竞争双方，不可能是关注竞争的一方及竞争关系。

简单说 the rivalry between x and y 着重的是两者之间的关系
而 the rivals x and y 着重的则是双方（可以说是人~）

简单说 the rivalry between x and y 着重的是两者之间的关系
而 the rivals x and y 着重的则是双方（可以说是人~）
