笔记的解释：
so …that V.S. so … as to be/do的用法：
so … that可以用作多个主语时，so前面的主语和that后面的主语可以不一样；
so … as to be/do一般用于单一主语，但是不能相隔太远，否则可以视为错误
原理：so … as to事实上是三个结构的结合，so引出的是状语，as指代句子前面的核心含义，to是不定式引导状语结构(adverbial structure)，此不定式修饰的正是前面的核心动词以及该动词的逻辑主语，所以只有当前面只有一个核心动词而且很明确的时候才能够用so…as to，也正因为修饰成分离被修饰词过远会造成修饰不清，所以to be/do结构不能与前面动词不能太远。

再来看OG 37
37.Although schistosomiasis is not often fatal, it is so
debilitating that it has become an economic drain on
many developing countries.



(A)it is so debilitating that it has become an
economic
(B)it is of such debilitation, it has become an

我的问题是，根据高中学的知识so...that和so...as to的意思是如此。。。以至于
so that 和 so as to是为了。。。
不知道这种说法在GMAT中是否适用
按照OG的理解是不是so。。。as to和 so as to都是错误的？

我做这类题有两个个原则：
1.当so .... that.... 和so ....as to 都正确时优选so...as to....因为so as to 较so  that来的简洁
2.那什么时候so as to不正确的呢？
1）把so as to句型改成so that 句型如果主句和that引导的从句时态不一致则不能用so as to 改变

C的问题是硬伤：they指代shifts, shifts are unable to be distinguished. This expression makes no sense.
be able/unable to表述的是主语具有...能力，这里显然应该是shifts can not be distinguished. 而不是shifts不具备某种能力，因此此项的硬伤在于be able的不当使用而不是出在so...that上。个人认为Prep的解释远啊，近啊的不太科学。如果我们在学习中真正从语义出发就没必要偏找个绝对的理由。

答案选A，C也是系表结构呀，只不过是倒装了，为什么不能用呢？

我有一点疑问：你说的不能用so as to的第二种情况里，什么才叫单一主谓结构啊？就是只有主语和谓语，没有宾语的吗？如果是主系表结构呢？
