2011 Consulting Pay:
http://managementconsulted.com/consulting-jobs/2011-management-consulting-salaries-undergraduate-post-mba/

For Bain…
Signing Bonus: $20,000
Base: $125,000
Performance Bonus: up to $39,000 for your first year
- – - – -
Total compensation: $184,000

For BCG…
Signing Bonus: $20,000
Base: $135,000
Performance Bonus: up to $40,000 for your first year
Relocation: $2-5,000 depending on distance
- – - – -
Total compensation: at least $197,000

For McKinsey…
Signing Bonus: $20,000
Base: $125,000
Performance Bonus: up to $40,000 for your first year
Relocation: $2-5,000 depending on distance
- – - – -
Total compensation: at least $187,000

Career Ladder in Consulting
  • Engagement manager/Project leader: $175-250K
  • Associate principal/Senior project leader: $250-400K
  • Partner/Principal: $500-800K
  • Senior partner/Director: $1M plus

    2011 Banking Pay:
    http://www.careers-in-finance.com/ibsal.htm

    First Year Associate$150K - 250K$180KMBA

    Third Year Associate$300 - 500K$350KMBA

    Vice President$350K - 1MM$700K3-6 years

    Director / Principal$400K - 1.5MM $900K5-10 years

    Managing Director / Partner$500K - 20 MM$1.5 MM7-10 years

    Department head$800K - 70MM$3.5MM10+ years

The banking figures posted before include no-name shops.
Bulge bracket number should look more like (roughly):

    First Year Associate: 100K + 40K + 10K + 50K = 200K (stub)
    Second Year Associate: 130K + 140K = 270K
    Third Year Associate: 140K + 170K = 310K
    Fourth Year Associate: 150K + 200K = 350K

This is for NYC. HK should be higher and London lower. And the differences should be even more pronounced on an after-tax basis.

楼上的计算is grossly off.

    The NYC Analyst
Let’s start with the base case of a newly minted investment banking analyst in NYC – after this, I’ll explain how it’s different in other regions, outside the US, and for associates on up.
If you earn a $70,000 base salary, that’s $5,800 per month (technically it is $5833.33333 but we’re using round numbers here).
Taxes are different for everyone, but with that level of income in NYC you’ll pay around $2,000 per month (34-35% rate) in federal, state, and city taxes – leaving you with $3,800 in after-tax income each month.
Manhattan is also the most expensive place to live in the US, and at the minimum you’ll spend $1,200 on rent (with a roommate) – but more likely you’ll spend $1,500 to $2,000 on rent.
    So now you’re left with $1,800 – $2,300 per month of post-tax, post-rent income.

Married individuals filing separately: http://www.usa-federal-state-individual-tax.com/income_tax_rates.asp
Married file jointly, no one can claim me, 你的税大概是33,150.00 USD,

NY will be cheaper, you will have some deduction
    -- by 会员 Tigeroo (2011/11/16 23:25:54)

    -- by 会员 Tigeroo (2011/11/17 9:34:58)
