还有就是纠正你一下 就是。其实in contrast to比较的就是对象imbalances和trade deficit，并不是trade

如果以上不理解 ，可以google关于贸易赤字的概念

谢谢你。比较结构我明白了。。可是 后面那句话得翻译 “与墨西哥的贸易赤字降低了5亿美金因为创纪录的对墨西哥的出口额”感觉很蹩脚啊。。什么叫“因为创纪录的对墨西哥的出口额”。。。。

前面比较的是 ongoing trade imbalances ，因此后面主语需要时 trade，而不是us
trade deficit
with Mexico declined by $500 million as a result of record exports to that country.
