写到最后一段的时候发现就剩两分钟了。。于是放弃了两分钟码一段的冲动，还是稳稳的超时吧。。
题号：新GRE  53
题目：If a goal is worthy, then any means taken to attain it are justifiable.
写作要求：Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider ways in which the statement might or might not hold true and explain how these considerations shape your position.


Imagine a situation, where you must complete your discourse or experiment before the deadline. What would you do? Can you just clear the wistful mind and persuade yourself that everything is going to be fine and go to bed? Everyone with a goal to achieve academic success wouldn’t do that, even one afraid of being blamed by his professors wouldn’t do that either. On the contrary, he’s most likely to stay up late so as do squeeze time to finish his job, albeit this could result in short-term health risk, such as abnormal bowel movement.
The situation discussed above expiate on the styles of today’s life. There’s no denying that the pace of life today is becoming faster and faster because of pressures from without as well as from within. In this case, almost the whole populace might hold a faith that they could do anything to attain a goal, as long as it is valuable in their minds. But the problem is that how can they tell the difference between a worthy goal and a trivializing one? When taking the example from the outset into account, we could notice that the student may delay his work for some time, resulting in his lucubration several days ahead of the deadline. In this light, we might understand that the student would have avoided the unjustifiable means—to some extent—to complete his work had he not wasted his time before. Thus merely working with extreme means before the deadline would prove to be unjustifiable at all.
Moreover, the definition of the worthy goal could be observed in other aspects. For instance, is the goal maintaining its value merely to certain persons while harming others’ interests? Throughout the world, a great many of countries carry out policies that exclude the opinions of the populaces. Because of this kind of aristocracy, the governments may not be comprehensive when planning the countries’ blueprints. In this case, the policies in their countries might end up feckless due to the resistances of the populaces holding opinions that the policies would be detrimental to their interests, thereby belying the issue that in any situations any means to attain a partially worthy goal is justifiable.
Nevertheless, proper use of the faith mentioned in this issue could propel a person to maintain his desire to succeed as well as galvanize him to head to the success. As is universally known, the volition of human race is unlimited, whereas most people are unaware of it and they give up so easily that they might not touch the key to success at all. Although the situations talked above pertaining to harming others’ interests as well as wasting one’s time until too late are common in all societies, we are confronted with personal things more often than not. So there’s little chance for one to be involved in the situations, and all he could do is to control his desire in order to pave the way for endeavors. Then he might hold the key to succeeding.
In retrospect, this issue is too narrow to include all situations as an all-encompassing theory. Admittedly, one might always use extreme means to goad himself—being harsh to himself, for example—he must also consider the possibility of harming others’ interests as well as other better alternatives to attain the goal. It seems a herculean task for one to be so considerate, but that’s what we live for—to make a thriving world by our own endeavors.

哦，对啊，既然是贬义，应该是破坏他人利益对吧？我当时想的是熬夜损害身体即破坏了自己的健康利益。嗯，你举的这个例子很有说服力啊~~领教了~

熬夜完成作业我觉得是非常合理的，不能叫不择手段。如果把熬夜和借作业来抄比较，熬夜属于justifiable, 抄作业是不可取的。

嗯，这个很在理。我当时写的时候其实就意识到了justifiable没怎么提到，所以有些地方特意mention了挺多次这个词，但明眼人确实一下就看出来我还是跑题了。。当时写的时候太着急了，以后得先分析好了才能写。。第一段的例子，我本来是想，学生为了完成任务（justifiable），而熬夜（不择手段），但好像这个不太明显是么？是不是我要是提到了学生如果完成任务了会怎样更好的说明justifiable？

这篇我不留情了啊。
首先，第一段举的例子，我看不出跟题目有太大的关系。
第二，用了太多的篇幅来讨论怎么判断一个目标是不是worthy, 但是题目的重点是在后半句”any means are justifiable".

总体说来，有点跑题。
