Researchers hypothesize that granitic soil is the ideal construction material for the desert tortoise because it is not so hard that it makes burrowing difficult or so soft that it could cause tunnels to collapse. A. so hard that it makes burrowing difficult or so soft that it could cause B. hard enough to make burrowing difficult or soft enough as to cause (enough排除) C. as hard as to make burrowing difficult or soft enough so it causes (enough排除) D. as hard as to make burrowing difficult or as soft as to cause E. too hard, making burrowing difficult, nor too soft, so as to cause
我的疑问是,A要表达的句意是:“granitic soil不会硬到让burrow很困难的程度,也不会软到让tunnel collapse的程度” 而D表达的意思是:“不和to make burrowing difficult一样硬,也不和to cause tunnel collapse一样软”
结构中,第二个as后面能否接"to make sth. difficult"这样的结构? as...as... She is as tall as me. She cooks as good as my mother cooks.
The book is not as good to read. 这个as就是为了强调good的程度,而to read是我要说的动作。 而The book is not as good as that one.
The soil is not as hard as to make it difficult to burrow....
而说到这个"to make it adj. to do"我觉得,做名词成分并不好,但是我不确定。 To make the classroom cleaner, Jim swept the floor.
