Thus its being so genetically similar, without this explicit comparison, is incorrect. Also, the two sides of  the construction consider......to be must agree in number(fellows.... close relatives, not fellows....a closer realtive).

A. Consider all their fellows to be a close relative shows in correct agreement,  with plural fellows and singular a close relative.
B. Its being so genetically similar is incorrect because there is no explicit  statement of what the an is similar to; also, the plural fellows and sigular a close relative do not agree.
C. Its being so genetically similar is incorre because there is no explicit statement of what the ant is similar to.
D. Correct. The clause with similar uses the plural they and an explicit to each other, and agreement is respected between ants and fellows.
E. The plural fellows and singular a close relative do not agree.
至于楼上说的有关于limits的问题，我看到刘振明p21页，form（type，kind）+主语，谓语单复数由主语的单复数定，所以应该用limit
我做的时候选成了C，就是受了in its native argentina 的误导，这里的its 指代的应该是前面的this species，这里的species是单数。我比较疑惑的是，D中的they指代的是the ants , 这样混着用，不会造成混乱么？

问题是C里面struggles 应该是limit啊～怎么能是limits，是the  kind of .......that limits 么？

我觉得这句话的对比应该是the Argentine ant 这个种群的蚂蚁和别的种群的蚂蚁做出比较。所以应该用it 指代the Argentine ant，在genetically similar to others。

我反而不大明白为什么选择D选项。
