我在网上查看的几乎全是说：“原句是a great deal 和now在比较，所以要加they do”
还有大全的10也是：

但是我做到prep#2  197的时候就大大的郁闷了。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。

C.    a greater proportion than they have been
D.    which is greater than was so      
E.    which is greater than it has been
（虽然别的选项我也知道哪里不对，但是它的答案是B，这个答案是在说明前两道题的答案选A也是对的！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！）
我实在是搞不明白了，求nn指教。。。。
（马上就要考试了，可能是自己的底子还是太薄了吧，正确率老是很低。。。这不知道该咋办了，求好心的nn能帮我解答这几道题，在此感激不尽）

这道题我选错了C，把they指代了costs，后来发现应该比较的是proporotion。
关于A答案。因为以前的proportion跟1992的proportion不是同一件事，所以不能用it（专门指代前面提到的名词）指代。
B是正选。补全省略的部分是Soaring television costs accounted for more than half the spending in the presidential campaign of 1992, a greater proportion than（the proportion） in any previous election.

我猜...因为这里相当于一个独立主格？ 不能有完整的主谓宾？（ it is） a greater proportion 煮鱼 than  （it was） in any previous year . 还有就是名词性从句

因为than的左边没有出现时间状语，所以右边now直接会跟左边的a great deal这个状语比较。因为左边已经不能补出时间状语了，所以在右边补出完整的主谓以避免歧义。
除此之外，时态不同也是一个点，但不是所有GMAT的题比较的时态不同都补出了主谓。这一个split算第二位吧。

第二道题的A，it要么指代half the spending,要么指代the presidential campaign,或者a greater proportion,这三个无论谁放这里逻辑都不通顺。（Ron讲过，it、they这种pronoun，指代的时候一定是包括了essential modifier的antecedent）。
除此之外，a greater proportion是名词词组，in any previous election是状语，逻辑上看他们不会比较，所以不会产生歧义。
