Georgetown or Maryland (重点关注在学业压力，请前辈指教）

本人dc local,被两家的mba都录取了，想了解下是不是所谓no brainer gtown,还是maryland（gtown有了奖但学费太高，相对maryland的奖比较好，简直是half gtown tuition)

两学校都去过很多次，喜欢gtown的名气和资源，也喜欢马大的氛围，娱乐和环境。所以特别关注workload:

从直观经验上说，课业谁比较轻松？比较不用埋头书本？相对而言。希望有前辈传授真实经验，进行比较。谢谢。

俺还是选择了gtown...因为去过两家的event,感觉似乎future student的质量是gtown高一点点，smith的那个mba student association的副主席随便发个言却在那里浑身发抖...；另外career service那个Dr.K虽然很会说话，很positive, 但是感觉有点虚，说得很好听，口气很大，往往实质就差些...

不好意思啊，说错别见怪，smith的program其实真的academics不错，有很多特长，学校也好玩，但是综合起来gtown胜出一筹,毕竟名校的虚名下总能召集到更好的学生，企业和资源

(也怪自己申请地晚，被什么dream school haas, csb, stern都dinged...)

Definitely, I believe the MBAs in Smith are great people and the UMCP is a wonderful place to be, I mean, to party and hang out. Will definitely go there often to be part of the events and activities.

(Girls are better in UMCP than gtown, that's 100% sure)

I am current student at Gtown.....I set up a thread in this forum.  Why not ask your questions there? Gtown emphasizes on academic performance.  You can put all your effort on studying hard or still keep your life balance.  It is all your call.  I just had a conversation with one UMD guy last saturday.  They aint satisfied with the result on their job placement.  And that is why UMD ranking drops by 10 position in business week.

I'm a current student at Smith-UMD. There's also an UMD thread on the forum. You can also post your school specific questions there. UMD as a whole provides great opportunities for people to have fun. But, our MBA program offers serious academic resources and good job opportunities. You can look up the ranking for research. UMD is definitely in the top 10 in the US. Also, if you have access to data that show the job placements for the MBAs three months after graduation. I don't think there's a difference (or at least not material). With regard to the drop in ranking, the data was collected 2 years ago and the cause was a low student satisfaction. Ever since, our career office has made many positive changes. We've seen more good things happen this year. The dissatisfaction mainly comes from the fact that the ranking dropped by so many places. With respect to job opportunities, I still feel very confident. If anything I said conflicted with what our "UMD guy" said. I'm more than happy to clarify. But, I hope comments about other schools should be presented in a full picture.

可否理解lz的意思是 georgetown相对maryland缺乏社交资源？不然的话，只要资源比maryland丰富，自己少花些精力在学习上又何妨

另外也没在校生说起过georgetown的学业很重过
