I once think about that as well. But at the end of day, I decide to apply PhD directly. It's a little bit  心力憔悴 to 跳来跳去.

So where are you now? And how much chance do i have to get an offer from certain school ranked from 50-100? Or any suggestion abt school selection?

#1. I said I will apply phd directly; #2. I don't know; #3. no idea
the thing is I feel you are over-qualify for a master in econ in duke or nyu, what do you think? I don't know you, you should know yourself better.

No idea since i've never thought of attending econ master program. And under this cirsumstance i could hardly pinpoint my odds of being admitted by any decent econ program, not to say a highly selective Duke's program.
Yet I do have a clue on my application on other fields such as FE and Stat cuz I've familiarized muself with'em since long ago.

啊。。。。。。看来还是得Econ的Master，但好学校实在选择不多= =纠结

应该是跟stern的title不匹配，跟学校的title比还是足够的。

据我了解，nyu的那个master in econ声誉不算很好（和学校title不匹配），Duke似乎好些，UBC也不错
北美之外可考虑LSE等……

不可行，统计系的课作业很多，根本不给你狂选econ课的机会，而且很多老师就看看你是什么硕士，哪有功夫去看你修了什么课。

还有就是去牛校的Stat，然后狂选Econ的课，这样可行么？
