Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Parents are the best teachers. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

In response to this argument, some people may list their points that parents may not be the best teacher because some knowledge cannot be taught by parents especially when one entering the society, whereas I tend to agree with the claim that parents are always the best teacher through out their children’s life. I would support my argument in below points:


First, parents definitely are the best knowledge provider before we become adult. This is because they not only have the most influence upon us but also care us the most about our growth. No one could deny that they will look for their parents’ opinion when encountering some difficult situations. They rely on their parents’ explanation rather than listening to any other voice. Parents also care for their only children and want them to grow healthily. Take my parents as an example: they always observe my behavior under different circumstances so as to coach me to perform better next time.


Second, parents can still serve as a good mentor even after we grow up. From their abundant knowledge and experiences, parents could give valuable suggestions or instructions which will save us from making mistakes or failures. There’s a proverb in Chinese says ‘an elder in house is just like a treasure’, which clearly describes the meaning of using parents as a helpful guider.


However, one may still debate that the knowledge and experiences coming from parents are obsolete and cliché toward this rapid changing word. But still some laws and approaches are universal true and adoptable in any age. Even some do go out of date for nowadays, yet these knowledge and experiences are not entirely false and part of these still useful.


In sum, although some people may still disagree with the argument that parents are the best teachers for their children. But anyone has his/her own opinion, and by listing above points, I would like to claim that parents are my best teachers forever.
