答案木有问题，是D。我就想问问，这个D中的it，prep笔记的的解释是it指代mountain yellow-legged frog;
但是为什么不会产生指代decline的歧义呢？我之所以会有这个问题是因为og12 的78题，如下：

答案是D，A错的原因是it只能指代fossils，非sloth，因为显然fossils是这个所有格结构中的核心词。所以在后文中要重述一次。大家不觉得很奇怪么？在这个地方fossils是复数，sloth是单数，用it指代会产生的歧义程度显然没有前一题decline和frog都是单数造成的歧义大。但是在og里面都是不允许的，为什么在prep里面又没有这样的混乱了呢？请大侠NN斑竹啥的帮忙看看吧。谢谢了。

prep pack 3已经将D里面的”it“ 改成“the animal" 了

同意；
做语法的时候要主语未划线部分的修饰语，像这道题后面有明确的解释说明，就可以理解为是对it的解释，这样读句子的时候就不会误认为指代decline了；

同意楼主观点，其实这里的it是会产生指代不清的问题。
OG78：根据OG的官方解释：原句的主语是fossils，而非sloth，因此it无对应指代的对象。
PREP94，与OG78是几乎完全相同的结构，句子主语也不是mountain yellow-legged frog，而是decine.
我也觉得这道PREP题目出得不是很完美，但是楼主也别太认真，毕竟选出正确答案才是我们的最终目的。

不同意ls的观点，因为语法不仅仅考的是语法，句子意思的逻辑合理也很重要，lz注意看it后面的部分， as an endangered species in the near future.             it显然不能指代decline。
