1．句子比较
（1）比较级出现的地方是句子主谓宾的一部分时，后面要补助动词。( ps,如果是系表结构，可以省略)

注意：than 后面比较指代前面同类事物用that 和those代替，如果是同一个事物可以省略

这句话是不是因为前后说的都是老人，用lz的话说是同一事物，所以用they来代替，而不用those哈？
从语法上来说是不是they有时也可以省略啊，比如这句话就直接than are in most western countries

如果是后面带着定语修饰的老人就要用those了。因为they 或者it 指的是之前的整个名词（包括他的修饰成分了）
