遇到长题，首先要找两个东西：代词和固定搭配。首先看A,D和E都出现了这么一个结构：enshrined them。这个them应该是前面那个Buddha images，但是A，D和E选项中的代词和指代对象都太远了，容易引起误会。因此予以排除。

另外AND和AS WELL AS不能互相替换，因此排除C。另外D中的AND ALSO错，语意重复。

比较一下各个选项的不同之处就好

比如这个题五个选项前三个开头一样，后两个和前三个不一样

首先，你比较一下ABC和DE，看看句子意思，应该是“创造能力被...和...拓展”好呢？还是“创造图像是...创造力和装饰与结构的原因”好。前者好。

然后比较ABC。看看这三个选项的差别，首先是介词搭配的使用，还有就是平行并列。
Buddha images 和construction and decoration of the temples 应该是对等的，所以排除 as well as的选项。
而且只有B介词平行 was expended on... and on...

综上，最后答案是B
