Really having a hard time deciding between Cornell and Columbia now.... I hope MIT can end my misery....

呵呵学校有人昨天拿到MIT的那个master,一年的项目86000美元,比SLOAN的金融硕士还狠啊. Columbia好像可以申请Worldbank Scholarship

I didnt get the email from MIT yesterday... so I might have been rejected.. I've sent an email to Maria and still waiting to hear back from her. I have been trying very hard to choose between Cornell and Columbia. Take a look at the thread I started in Real Estate sector...

I am visiting both schools in two weeks... Hopefully I can make a decision then.
I mean afterall, the Ivy League + NYC is a killer combination for Columbia...  and MIT's 2009 batch stats was not that great...

if you look at the class of '09 there were 33 students. 64% of the students responded to the salary survey and the people who have not responded probably don't have a job. A close look at the report reveals that actually only 11 people have actually reported having a job with a salary. 2 people started a company together, 1 is attending more school, 7 report still looking for a job in FEBRUARY (8 months after graduation) and 12 people didn't even bother responding. And of the people who reported a salary 3 people report a salary under $70k. If you bump that up to under $90 you get 4 people. So basically out 33 people ONLY 7 people have a job with a salary that is actually higher than the schools pre-MSRED salary.

Sadly Columbia doesnt publish their stats, so we can't really analyze it...  But personally I think the network and connections you get in Columbia will be tremendous. And i think their employment stats probably is not too bad... otherwise you will hear quite alot of complaint from 100 ppl...

That being said... for me, Cornell attracts me more with an internship and two years of solid academic studies... My previous background is pretty much all in Architecture, so I'd like to enjoy the 10 elective courses offered at Johnson and Hotel....

Just got MIT offer！！

我的情况和楼主一样，其他我还报了Columbia, Cornell, NYU, NSC的RE program, 前两天陆续都收到了offer, 现正纠结于去Columbia还是MIT。
MIT：学术强、学校强，但学校在波士顿，我还是希望以后去纽约工作的话，会不会Columbia更有优势呢？我的老板也是MIT这个专业毕业的，所以给我的印象这个专业毕业的人都很学术，不知道在NYC job market 上的reputation怎样？
Columbia，学术上不错但不如MIT强，学校强，位置佳，如果我希望在纽约工作的话似乎占点优势，且总体来说Columbia在Finance上的实力也不弱， 但这个专业在columbia很新，是不是在nyc job market上有好的口碑呢？就不得而知了。

总之，纠结。。。

不知楼主可有什么见地，貌似您是会选MIT,有机会认识一下，说不定我们是同学哦？
