很想知道，如果面试了chicago, wharton and columbia, 最后一个都不进的可能大吗？有没有谁知道这样倒霉的人啊？
理性上觉得应该继续准备材料，可是又很懒，提不起精神， 所以看看有没有三个一个都不进的前例，也算刺激一下，继续努力准备 second round

In fact, I was going to apply to Tsinghua and CEIBS too at that time. Maybe, or maybe not. Who knows? In fact, it is perhaps EVEN MORE possible that others wouldn't have viewed my comments differently, and the only one who would view my comments differently is MYSELF. Anyway, when I visited CEIBS, the admissions officer told me, "we have students from Morgan Stanley and UBS and other top multinational companies here... You're too young. I suggest you work two to three years at a top multinational company, and then come back and apply."

So yeah, "优秀" is relative- I was dinged by CEIBS before I even submitted my application (and I admit, I was pissed that they did it, and so blatantly too). But later I realised that they valued work experience in brand name companies, and I didn't have that. Nothing wrong with that, really.

So I certainly had cause to be worried. But my philosophy is, why worry about things you can't control?

I heard from a Wharton alum that he once wrote some very negative comments on one applicant and the applicant turned out to receive the offer still.

我到觉得是好的面试不一定能进，但是差的就肯定不能进，当然obama的儿子或者女儿除外。

Jason, 你当时申请时也是真的这样想的吗？你是优秀生，而且essay写的又那么好，申请时没有这么多顾虑吧？

LZ 对finance真是100%的兴趣 不过如果我是你 哪怕仍然有(1/2)^3=12.5% 的概率R1失利 这个时候也难免有些惰性。不过个人建议可以做些soft preparation 比如想想如何把你申过的三家的故事 对应到其它家的每一篇essay。菜有了 就看客官要不要点了。
